Background Information

Dr. Acord has been practicing oral and maxillofacial surgery in the Louisville Area since 2008 and formed Commonwealth Oral and Maxillofacial     Surgery in 2015. Maxillofacial surgery requires additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after graduation from dental school. As an oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Acord has experience in an array of problems related to the mouth, teeth, and facial regions. When opening his office, Dr. Acord practiced a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery with expertise ranging from dental implant surgery and wisdom tooth removal to corrective jaw surgery. This also included techniques designed to rebuild bone structure with minimal surgical intervention and optimal patient comfort. These days, Dr. Acords has moved away from corrective jaw surgery and mainly focuses on the removal of wisdom teeth, implant placement, allogeneic bone ridge preservation grafting, and the diagnosis and treatment of oral pathology.

Our team is trained in assisting with intravenous (IV) sedation and outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art office setting. Patients are continuously monitored during and after surgery.
